First eQuaLified Pyrometry Calibration & Test Technician Certificate Issued

25 January 2016

The first eQuaLified industry-managed certificate of qualification for Pyrometry Calibration has been issued to John Cox of Trescal Ltd in the UK.  John, who is Nadcap Calibration Manager, achieved Pyrometry Calibration & Test Technician status, after successfully passing the eQuaLified examination of the same name.

Trescal Ltd has made a strong and significant commitment to staff development through eQuaLified examinations with staff from a variety of locations around the UK studying for and taking pyrometry examinations over the coming year. Trescal Ltd provides calibration services to a number of aerospace companies including the UTC Aerospace Systems site in Wolverhampton, UK.

Lee Williams, Programme Manager for Trescal Ltd, explained: “We operate in an increasingly competitive global market and therefore the ability to demonstrate our knowledge and skills is imperative.  eQuaLified is an excellent way of proving to our customers that we have the expertise within their field and, that this is backed by an industry managed qualification.

“We are proud to be the first to be awarded this new qualification, underpinning Trescal’s position as industry leader.”

This commitment to staff excellence has been welcomed by Mark Binfield, Nadcap Lead – Actuation & Propeller Systems at UTC Aerospace Systems Wolverhampton and a member of the eQuaLified Management Council: “From a customer and wider industry perspective, it is always encouraging to see aerospace suppliers embrace opportunities to improve personnel competency. Demonstrating a thorough understanding of the processes involved in the work that has been subcontracted gives great reassurance that it has been well allocated.  I welcome Trescal’s commitment to staff development through eQuaLified, and congratulate all those pursuing certification.”

Joe Pinto, Executive Vice President & Chief Operating Officer at the not-for-profit Performance Review Institute commented: “The aerospace industry is facing a number of personnel-related challenges, such as the need to ensure knowledge transfer. The intent of eQuaLified is to address those challenges by providing a consistent mechanism for companies to demonstrate their expertise and reassure their customers of their technical proficiency. Any commitment to staff development requires an investment from the company; time and resources are necessary for a successful outcome. As one of the first companies globally to support their staff in gaining eQuaLified certificates of qualification, Trescal Ltd is to be commended as an innovator and visionary, as well as being committed to technical excellence.”
